MEET SHELBY

My yoga journey began during my time playing Division 1 soccer at UNC Charlotte. I was seeking a way to feel good in my body and prevent injuries. I soon began uncovering layers of myself that I didn’t anticipate. I was hooked.

Once I finished my degree in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics, I hightailed it to Bali for my first 200hr yoga teacher training.

Yoga became more than a movement practice. For me, it’s like going to church. It’s how I reconnect to center.

What is happening physically in your body is so closely intertwined with what is happening mentally. Yoga addresses both.

I completed my 300hr with Jonny Kest and have since then been a lead teacher on several 200hr trainings with Jonah Kest and Verayoga. I love to blend the ancient techniques of yoga with modern functional movement patterns to address imbalances and weaknesses in the body. My sequencing aims to strengthen joints, exfoliate fascia/scar tissue, and guide you into the present moment.
